This summer, FRC Team 127 Bluetonium is excited to host Robot in 2 Weeks: An FRC Build Camp, a two-week immersive experience designed to introduce new students to the exciting world of FIRST Robotics Competition while bringing together experienced mentors and teams from across our community.
The camp will run Tuesday, July 28 through Saturday, August 8, meeting Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. each day. We are partnering with FRC Team 324 Chips and are grateful for the support of mentors from teams including FRC Team 3847 Spectrum, FRC Team 5414 Pearadox, and others who share our passion for inspiring the next generation of engineers.
Over the course of just two weeks, participants will experience an accelerated version of an FRC build season. Starting with the 2026 FIRST Robotics Competition game, students will learn how to analyze the game, develop strategy, brainstorm ideas, prototype mechanisms, create CAD models, manufacture parts, wire the robot, write software, integrate subsystems, and test their work. Our goal is to finish the camp with a fully functional robot that we will continue refining and take to compete at TRI 2 this fall.
This camp is intended primarily for new and incoming FRC students, but it is open to students from any school, not just Friendswood ISD. Whether your team is well established or just getting started, we welcome you to join us in the spirit of FIRST and Gracious Professionalism.
The registration fee is $100 per student, which helps cover robot materials, daily dinners, and snacks throughout the camp.
We are also looking for adult mentors and senior FRC students who would like to help teach and guide participants. Whether your expertise is in mechanical design, CAD, manufacturing, electrical systems, programming, strategy, or simply mentoring students, your experience can make a tremendous difference.
